First came.....
THE IDEA
The Pizza Factory started out with the idea to promote our woodfired pizza ovens, made and manufactured right here in Levin at 38 Cambridge Street South, by us. Our goal was to demonstrate just how incredible these ovens are—not only do they create mouthwatering pizzas, but they also cook roasts, vegetables, steaks and other culinary masterpieces.
The humble beginnings....
KEEPING THINGS SIMPLE
Our journey started outside, along Cambridge Street, next to our woodfired pizza oven warehouse, Piazza Pizza Ovens. We set up our mobile woodfired pizza oven cart along with our friend's coffee cart, where we advertised, chatted, laughed, froze, sweltered, made, sold, drank and ate some really great pizza and coffee with some really great people.
Then came....
THE UNEXPECTED TWIST
To our surprise, our uniquely handcrafted Neapolitan pizza base, made-from-scratch sauce, and premium ingredients turned our pizzas into local favourites, generating an enthusiastic demand that we hadn't anticipated. As excitement grew along with the queues, we made the necessary decision to transition from our outdoor carts to a lively indoor pizzeria and café.
Making the move....
A FAMILY AFFAIR
Transforming a Pizza Oven Showroom into a dine in restaurant takes skill, takes focus, takes discipline, takes resourcefulness, takes strategy, it takes....the LEE FAMILY! I'm sure we would have made Bruce Lee proud if we were indeed related. Our whole family became involved at setting up the pizzeria and are still involved, either by: serving, managing, cooking, clearing, or the favorite job, taste testing and consuming (our teenagers' dream job).
The place turned into a vibrant space where guests could watch their pizzas come to life while chatting with our friendly cooks, like at a backyard BBQ. Customers raved about the inviting atmosphere, friendly staff, and food and offerings, which kept everyone coming back for more.
and that's not all....
THERE'S MORE
Despite our location not being the main street of Levin, word spread like wildfire, and soon our bustling indoor space was so popular that we struggled to find seats for all our guests. This overwhelming success led us to expand once again into what is now Cambridge Lane, where we not only increased our restaurant's space and seating but also broadened our culinary offerings. Today, we proudly serve not only our signature pizzas but also tantalizing Mexican dishes, gourmet burgers, and soon, a delightful range of desserts, smoothies, fresh salads. We now have Online Ordering, Reservations, Group Bookings, Corporate Functions, Takeaways, Delivery and that's not all....there's more on the way....
